Hi.
My name is William Ellison, and I’m a software development hobbyist. Living in Knoxville, Tennessee, I’ve worked in the healthcare industry since 2018, doing my part to fight for billing compliance and accuracy. A graduate of the University of Tennessee and the Universidad Isabel I, I play a key role in maintaining compliant billing practices for a major hospital system, ensuring continued access to quality healthcare for more than two million people. My work has focused on correct billing of hospital and other facility services and identifying billing issues before they result in costly chargebacks to insurance, thereby safeguarding revenue and maintaining solvency.
In my spare time, I work with Python, C++, and C programming, which is the primary concern of this blog. My academic background is in computer science, but for various personal reasons, I never pursued a career in the software engineering profession. My interests in software development center around system programming, Web development, databases, and networked applications, and I primarily work on Unix-based systems, including macOS and Linux. When I’m not busy auditing records or programming, you’ll find me studying math, reading literature, creating constructed languages, crocheting, spending time with my cats, and trying new and varied vegetarian and vegan dishes.
